The lunor eyewear collection was originally founded by Gernot Lindner, an avid collector of antiques. Lindner’s general interest in antiques eventually led him to collect antique eyewear. When the time came for Lindner to look for eyewear for himself, he found nothing that compared to the quality he knew in the antique eyewear collection he already owned. Inspired by the quality craftsmanship of these antique pieces, Lindner founded the Lunor company in 1991.
Each Lunor piece is hand-crafted in Germany from the highest quality materials making them both beautiful and very comfortable. The workmanship is outstanding.
The detailing is simply exquisite. One notable feature on many of these frames is the telescopic temple. This temple was inspired by the frames of the 1800’s.
Even the cases are hand-crafted. At Lunor, the case and glasses are one. This is particularly true with the smaller metal frames where each piece fits perfectly into its own hand-crafted wooden case. Lunor’s quality and simple elegance has caught the eye of many celebrities, perhaps most notably, the late Steve Jobs who is shown below wearing the Lunor Classic Rund model.
